Founded in 1949, Dupo Fire & EMS is made up of a group of dedicated men and women who have made the choice to give back to their community by

volunteering their time to help their neighbors in times of distress.

The DVFD provides full residential, commercial and industrial fire protection and rescue services with highly trained personnel certified through the State

of Illinois and other agencies. Each firefighter is required to attend a one year academy and becomes skilled in several aspects of emergency responses.

In addition to fire protection, the Dupo Volunteer Fire Department provides full Advanced Life Support (ALS) emergency medical services to the citizens of

the village. Again, in this field, all personnel are licensed through the State of Illinois or on a National Registry of EMTs.

In both branches, all of the DVFD personnel spend countless hours doing extensive training and continuing education throughout each year to keep their

licenses and skills up to date to serve our residents in the best way we can.

The DVFD operates three fire apparatus and two ALS ambulances. All apparatus are equipped with the latest, state of the art medical, rescue and fire

suppression equipment, including a Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS), which is the only one in St. Clair County. With the equipment in our

ambulances, EMTs can perform the exact same procedures that are normally reserved for a hospital emergency room setting.

On top of providing top notch fire protection and EMS services, the DVFD also sponsors several community events and fundraisers throughout the year

including BBQs, fish fries, and the annual Easter Egg Hunt and Firemen’s Picnic, which has become community traditions throughout the years.
